Hello! My name is Jackie Espada and I have been blogging for just 2 short months. In these past 2 months, I have learned so much about myself and about the blogging community.
Since it is my 2 month anniversary of starting my blog, I decided to really devote some time to upgrading my website and really engage on all of my social media sites. This has led me to reach more than 200 followers on Twitter, over 100 followers on Instagram, and nearly 50 likes on my Facebook page. If you haven’t done so already, please like my pages so you can stay connected with everything relating to Jackie of All Trades.
First things first, I am truly enjoying life and everything it has brought to me so far. I am currently living in the great city of Atlanta, Georgia after having spent nearly 20 years of my life in Orlando, Florida. I graduated from the greatest university in the nation, University of Central Florida. Go Knights! I love sports. My favorite teams are the New York Yankees and New York Giants. (I was born in New York)
I don’t have any pets currently, but I have had a variety of pets ranging from hermit crabs, to a dog, a cat, some fish, and even a love bird. We do have a neighborhood cat that likes to come over every day for some snacks. Her name is Mojo, but we call her Shuri because she reminds us of Black Panther’s sister.
I currently work as a legal assistant for a small law firm. I hope to go back to school and become a Juris Doctor.
Why did I start blogging?
I started blogging because I needed an outlet for my words. All my life I was the type of person that chose not to speak so I wouldn’t offend anyone, but more importantly, I just wanted to fit in. I felt if I spoke my truth that people wouldn’t accept me. I wasn’t being my true self. I just decided to take the leap of faith and start putting words out there. So far, it has paid off. I’ve never been happier! I truly enjoy thinking of new blog ideas and sharing my thoughts with the world. I have now become the type of person that whenever I have an idea I use the voice memos on my phone and talk it out. I have dozens of ideas and I’m excited to share them.
What do I hope to achieve?
I hope to achieve freedom. I know it may sound silly, but all I want is to continue to break down the barriers that used to hold my words hostage. I hope to inspire others to use their voice for good.
What will I be blogging about?
I will be blogging about every day issues us millennials face. I’ve been quietly observing different topics for years and I’ve finally mustered up the courage to share my thoughts on what some of these issues are and how to overcome them or dig deeper as to why they happen. If you have not done so already, please check out my previous posts.

Who am I writing for?
I am writing for the person that thinks that they’re going through things by themselves. I want them to know that they are not alone and that I have been in a similar place. I hope to be a mentor or guide to help them through the dark times.
When I was battling my depression, I didn’t voice it to many people because I didn’t want people feeling bad for me or trying to impose their beliefs on me. Now, that I am past that I’d like to share the ways that I got through it and I hope that it will help someone just like me.
How can you help?
Feel free to reach out to me via comments, email at email@example.com, or any of my social media sites that I linked above. I encourage you to engage with me and send me new ideas that you would like to explore with me. If you would like to collaborate on ideas, I’m all ears and would love to do so! If you would like to guest post and expand on ideas that I have, I welcome that as well. Your feedback is important to me!
